Kevin Faris is a bonsai practitioner originally from Oregon; he has been practicing the art of bonsai with a great passion since 2016. He has studied with many professionals and semi-professional artists across the USA. He is going to school for his Bachelor's degree in Sustainable Plant Systems, focusing on Horticulture. His personal connection to bonsai dates back to when he was a child growing up, living in Oregon, and spending time in nature among the trees of the Pacific Northwest. When he was 7 years old, in his hometown of Tualatin, OR, he first saw Bonsai and was instantly fascinated by these miniature trees.
Kevin now wants to promote bonsai and spread the community engagement that creates lifelong friendships and an understanding and love of nature within horticulture and art. He also hopes the Bonsai time listeners and community feel like they are a part of the story being told so that they can relate to the artists and realize that we are all equal.
